Cheese and Bacon Rolls

Makes: 18 rolls


  • 70g butter (softened at room temp)
  • 300ml full cream milk
  • 3tsp yeast
  • 500g bakers/bread flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 1tsp salt
  • 2tbsp milk powder
  • 2tbsp oil

Egg wash

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1tsp milk


  • 200gm chopped bacon
  • 220gm grated mozzarella cheese


  • Warm milk in microwave
  • Stir in yeast, wait a few minutes
  • place in Bread machine: milk, flour, sugar, salt, milk powder, egg.
  • Put Bread machine through dough cycle.
  • Place on floured counter, divide and put into 18 rolls, shape and place on baking sheet
  • Start preheating oven to 180c / 350f
  • Cover, and let rise in some place warm for 45 minutes (or until doubled in size)
  • Brush top with egg wash, place chopped bacon on top, sprinkle cheese on top.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until nice and golden
  • Place on drying rack.
